1 Timothy 2:8

In every place of worship, I want [people] to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.

Psalm 63:1-4

O God, you are my God;
    I earnestly search for you.
My soul thirsts for you;
    my whole body longs for you
in this parched and weary land
    where there is no water.
I have seen you in your sanctuary
    and gazed upon your power and glory.
Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
    how I praise you!
I will praise you as long as I live,
    lifting up my hands to you in prayer.

Reflection:

Today we invite you to read through the scripture above slowly once. Then as you read through the scripture again gently turn your palms upward and pray through the Psalm again. Raise your arms, lift your eyes to the sky as you’re able and pray through the Psalm a third time. End your prayer with gratitude for how you have seen God in your “sanctuary” today.
