James 5:10 & 11

Brothers and sisters, as an example of patience in the face of suffering, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.  As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy. – NIV

My sacred family members, follow in the footsteps of the prophets who spoke for the Great Spirit. Even in times of suffering, they remained patient and strong. Look at how we honor those who have stood firm in troubled times. You have heard the story of Turns to Creator (Job), how he stood firm to the end and found the Great Spirit to be kind and merciful. The Great Spirit will do the same for you. – First Nations Version

Reflection:

We invite you to meditate on the great compassion, kindness and mercy of God. Spend a few moments in reflection. In what ways do you see God moving in compassion and mercy in the lives of others? In what ways do you see God moving in compassion and mercy around in your own life? Hold all of this in gratitude with God.
