Reflection 7-31-25

We’ve been praying the Lord’s Prayer together as a community. (You can read about it here.)

Today we invite you to write out the Lord’s prayer.

As you enter into the prayer with God, be mindful as you write each word slowly. Notice your pen or pencil on the paper. Maybe you notice the sound the pen makes. Maybe you notice how each word feels in your hand as you write it. Not judging hand writing or spelling, just being aware of each word as it makes its way on the page.

If at some point you notice you’ve stopped paying attention, gently draw your attention back to the writing.

Perhaps you notice a particular word that stands out to you write it – write the word in all capital letters or double underline it.

Write the prayer again a second time slowly. And then a third time.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who’ve trespassed against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
