Reflection

We’ve been praying the Lord’s Prayer together as a community. (You can read about it here.)

Fixed prayer times have been around since ancient days. The practice of “Praying the Hours” – praying at set times of the day still exists in many spaces in Christianity today. There are usually set prayers or scripture and a very general idea might be to pray every three hours – beginning at 3 am and going on throughout the day. Praying in this way can help us to be attentive to God throughout the day.

Today we invite you to set time alarms (only 3 am if you choose!) on your phone for a few times throughout the day. Lean back into the Beloved’s embrace and pray the Lord’s prayer.

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who’ve trespassed against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
