Reflection

Throughout this summer we’ve been praying the Lord’s Prayer together as a community beginning in June and finishing at the end of August. And so, we invite you to pray with us to close this time, just as we began.

Take a few minutes today. Pray the prayer three times (once slowly through to orient yourself to the prayer; once for yourself and once for the SFSAZ). Below are ideas for each section of the prayer.

Why? We believe deeply in seeking God’s heart in all things, following Him and being led by Him. We’ve been practicing praying this prayer for own own communities and relationships as well as with the SFSAZ, as an expression of unity around the mission God has given us to offer safe spaces for leaders and learners to grow in deepening intimacy with the Trinity.

The Invitation

Pray through once slowly

Pray through for yourself

Pray through for the SFSAZ

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

(Ask the Father for His goodness and grace to experienced through the SFSAZ)

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

(Pray for us to follow His heart in all we do; simply offering space for experiencing God)

Give us this day our daily bread.

(Ask God for the provision of resources to accomplish the mission)

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who’ve trespassed against us.

(Pray for grace and patience to fill all that we do)

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

(Ask that we not give in to the temptation to be powerful, popular, or proud)

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

(Pray that all we do would be for His kingdom and glory)
