Reflection 10-9-25
Psalm 8:3-8
3 When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—
the moon and the stars you set in place—
4 what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
5 Yet you made them only a little lower than God
and crowned them[e] with glory and honor.
6 You gave them charge of everything you made,
putting all things under their authority—
7 the flocks and the herds
and all the wild animals,
8 the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea,
and everything that swims the ocean currents.
“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; his eyes are closed”. Albert Einstein “The World as I See It”
Today we invite you to a prayer of awe. Acknowledging God’s presence is with you always, wander outside, pause, be silent and wonder and awe at the world around you. The longer you are quiet and still the more you will begin to notice.
What do you notice? What draws your attention? Spend a few moments in wonder. In prayer, take a few moments to be grateful for something you see, smell, hear, taste or can touch.
